PlaPlacer / Auburn Area (including Greater Roseville Area) Honor Guard: Our Post needs volunteers to serve on our Honor Guard. The Honor Guard is a DoD Certified Honor Guard to render final military honors to our departed veterans. Our Post participation is mainly to augment the honor guard for the greater Roseville area. Participation in the honor guard is on an “as available” basis. There is no obligation to attend or participate on a regular basis. Uniforms and training will be provided. The Honor Guard is commanded by CSGM Terry Crouson, USA Retired. He has asked for volunteers for our area. The following members of our post already belong to the Honor Guard: John Schance, Kathleen Schance, Jerry McColley, Dan Mendoza, Phil Jordon, Charles Peterson, and Bobby Carr with Don Chapman, Jim Berg, and Bob Bartholomew filling in when necessary. The Honor Guard meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Auburn Veterans Memorial Hall, 100 East St., Auburn at 1 pm. The meetings last for about an hour. Please come and volunteer as we need to give our departed veterans the final honors they deserve. Contact John Schance, 916-782-6906 for information.

You may attend any BloodSource location or blood drive and say you wanted to donate to American Legion Post 169 Account Nr. 7198. As we never know when we may need blood, it is critical to have blood available for you and your family needs. Your help and support in this much needed program would be greatly appreciated by our membership. You do not need to be a member of our Post or Auxiliary to donate blood to our program. So bring a family member, a friend, or a neighbor to the nearest BloodSourse Blood Bank and they will be happy to have you donate.
